Willow loves singing with the VBS CD from a week or so ago. The words are "Get on the Boomerang Express, it all comes back to Jesus." Lately I have not sought God or attempted a quiet time. My extent of fellowshipping with the Lord has been listening to Christian music. But when she sang that, "IT ALL COME BACK TO JESUS!" Something clicked in my head like Jesus flipped on the microphone and said,"You know Earl, it does all come back to me. IT ALL COMES BACK TO ME, everything Earl. Why don't you come back to me?"

What did a 4-year-old teach me? She taught me that it all comes back to Jesus.

Winter Jam 2009

I went to Winter Jam last night with the youth group. It was AWESOME!
TobyMac and HawkNelson put on the best performances of the night. However, the others weren't too shabby either. Newsong did one of my favorite songs, Arise My Love.

Tony Nolan spoke, he was real and relevant. He was funny , but serious. I believe that many young lives were saved last night because he allowed the Lord to use him. His orphan story made me cry. I was so moved that I committed to sponsoring a child in Haiti, a young boy by the name of Samuel. The sponsorship is through Holt International. I am Poor and Needy

In Psalm 86 David prays, "Hear me Lord for I am poor and needy." This is David, a man after God's own heart. The same David that had so much faith in the Lord that he fought and conquered Bears, Wolves and a Giant without fear. This is the same David that became a great king because of his faith in the Lord. Even with his great faith and success he realized he was powerless without God. That he was in fact "poor and needy." I forget that I am poor and needy and try to do things on my own. Please forgive me Lord, for I am poor and needy. I need you!

Verse 8 states: "Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord; Nor are there any works like Your works." I need to remember this, also. Lord, there is none like You.

Verse 12: "I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And I will glorify Your name forever." I want to praise you Lord. Help me praise you with all my heart and glorify You always.

Dear Heavenly Father, I want to be like David and be a man after your own heart.

"Super" Bowl??

Is it just me or was the whole Super Bowl experience very anemic this year? It was boring until the end and had a mediocre halftime show. I guess that is what you get with a really lucky team that really probably shouldn't be there and a semi-retired rocker. Maybe they could change the name to the Mediocre Bowl or NotsoSuper Bowl. That is my opinion and you know what they say about opinions. Maybe I'm being a little harsh. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I would have cared and a 3 year-old wasn't wanting my attention.

Even the commercials were lacking. Are you telling me these companies that have profits close to a billion dollars can't shoot a decent commercial? Oh well, there is always next year.

However, I have a more pressing question. Does God control games so certain teams will win? Did he appoint the Steelers to win? (Now you are going to say,"He knew the Steelers were going to win." I agree with that, but did he control the Super Bowl in order that they would win?) I think that He usually doesn't. Football is for our entertainment and in the world scheme it doesn't matter who wins. God gives athlete's the talents and they should use it to the best of his ability to honor God. I believe that there are times that God has changed a game for His glory. I don't know for a fact that the Lord has done this, but He is God and He can do what He wants. Maybe someone needed to learn a lesson or He wanted to bless a faithful servant. I guess it's not really important that I know the answer to this question, but it is fun to discuss. Discussions like this usually turn to whether or not predestination exists. I'm not sure of the answer of that either. I guess I will just have to wait until I get to heaven to answer both of these questions.

35 years old

London is 8 months old, has her first tooth coming in, crawling like a wild baby and pulling up. She is active and nosy. She doesn't like to miss anything.

Willow is still active, but she has started to enjoy movies and TV shows more. So, this slows her down a little. She loves preschool and going to church on Sundays.

Sunshine is as beautiful as ever. I believe motherhood has made her more beautiful. She loves teaching preschool and plans to return for the 2009-2010 school year.

As for me, I turn 35 today. It's not bad at all. I am so blessed. I love my life. I have a great family and a great job. (In this economy I'm just glad to have a job.)

I will add more pictures of the girls ASAP.

London is reaching, grabbing, and pulling at things. She has been very aware of her hands. She has now discovered her feet. She slumps down in her high chair so she can see her feet. She watches people as they enter and exit a room. She makes sure she is included in conversations, by joining in with coos, squeals, and sounds.

What a helper! I was cleaning the air return in the upstairs hallway tonight and made a big mess of dust and grime on the carpet. Willow of course asked me what I was doing. I told her and then said I would need to vacuum the mess later. I then got busy with London. While I was with London I heard this banging up the stairs and in the hallway. I looked out and Willow had gone downstairs and brought up her little toy vaccum to "clean up" the mess. She said, "I'll get it for you, Mommy." She "vacuumed" my mess and then said, "Excuse me Mommy (I was standing in London's doorway). "I need to clean London's room." So she "vacuumed" it too. I sure hope this willingness to help around the house continues when she's a teenager.

A few Willow stories

It's amazing how quick children grow and learn. Willow doesn't miss a thing!

Story 1: The other day Sunshine and Willow where driving home from preschool. (Willow goes to the preschool where Sunshine teaches.) Anyway, Willow says, "I want to go there." It takes Sunshine a second or two to figure out Willow is talking about Steak and Shake. Sunshine asks, "What are we going to get there?" Willow says, "A shake milk." I think we have been there once with her, but she didn't forget we got a "shake milk."

Story 2: Willow and I were driving home from Gigi and Poppy's house yesterday. I was drinking coffee and Willow wanted some. It finally got cool enough for her to drink, so I handed her the cup. She took a sip and said, "Yuummm! Good!" After a few sips I asked for my coffee back. Willow said, "Nope, it's my coffee now!" WHAT A SASSY LITTLE GIRL!

Willow wants to hold London, but she doesn't know how to be gentle. She can be very challenging at times. We want her to be included, but we don't want her to hurt London. Of course, she would never hurt her on purpose.

Chickamauga/Chattanooga

We went to the Chickamauga Chase 5K and 2 mile walk. I did the 5K and Sunshine and Willow did the walk. It was a lot of fun! We also visited the Tennessee Aquarium and the Children's Museum. That was REALLY COOL! Oh, this was back in April. It was a nice family weekend. We plan on going back next year.

Willow loves to sing. She is a little bit Country and little bit Rock n Roll. She sure can "Ham it Up!" She learned to close her eyes while singing by watching American Idol! How funny! (This is a video and may not appear if you are viewing from school.)

Where did the name come from?

You may be wondering what the deal with the names: Super Duper, Linger and Delay. Well, it all started one night when it was time for bed. Willow was playing and I was watching TV. Sunshine said, "It is time for bed Linger and Delay. Daddy is Linger and Willow is Delay." Well, that caught on with Willow. She sometimes calls me Linger and I sometimes call her Delay. It is cute.

Sunshine's name is Super Duper since she is the supervisor of bedtime duties. So, she named herself Super Duper. London has yet to earn a nickname. :-( Oh well, I'm sure it won't be long!

So, that is how I came up with the name for my blog: Super Duper, Linger, Delay and London.
